History of the Tennessee Valley
Pioneer Power Association

In January of 1988, local people who had an interest in preserving our agricultural heritage met at the Eagleville Community Center. After a general discussion the group decided to meet again in February 20, 1988 and the first officers and board of directors were elected. The board of directors elected were Buddy Woodson, Embree Blackwell Jr., Omri Rawlings, Horace Jackson, William Boyce, Don Miller, and W.C. Arnold. Buddy Woodson was elected president, Embree Blackwell Jr. Vice President, Omri Rawlings Secretary, and Horace Jackson Treasure.

The Club was officially named Tennessee Valley Pioneer Power Association on March 19, 1988 and incorporated on June 9th  of the same year. The club’s purpose is to promote the collection, restoration and display of antique agricultural equipment and to provide a forum for its members to discuss topics of interest.

The first show was held on September 10th, 1988 on the campus of Eagleville School. The one day show featured 138 tractors and 100 gas engines. 80 tractors competed in our first antique tractor pull. Charlie Woodson of Eagleville won the Slow Race and Wayne Propes of Murfreesboro won the Hand Cranking Contest.

The first 2 day show was held the year 1989.  Year 1999 brought major changes to the show ground with the completion of a new Eagleville School and the ball complex. The school was very generous to let us host our show on the newly designed ball fields and adjacent parking lots. With the show’s growth, we realized that we needed to locate a new facility in the Eagleville community to host our show. In 1999 we purchased 35 wooded acres on Chapel Hill pike and began to design and clear the property. With the help of James Rigsby, John E. Turner, Richard Kieffer and other members and volunteers we cleared the land and hosted our first show on the new property in 2003.

The event has continued to grow in size to become one of the Largest Shows in the Southeastern United States. We are truly humbled by the support of the Eagleville community, members, volunteers and sponsors, exhibitors and spectators who made this all possible.
